A lealdade republicana. Os carabineiros de Ourense

Abstract

In this paper it studies the intervention of Carabineros posted in Ourense during the military rebellion on July 1936. After to emphasize the role of his maximum person in charge, the commander Ayala Victoria, in the organization of the resistance to the military coup, it analyzes the practised repression against theirs members. Finallly, it examines the attempt of military authorities to debilitate its structures and to introduce elements of control and additional surveillance and the numerous conflicts with the local authorities and militia leaderships.
