El valor del territorio. Imagen e identidad.

Abstract

The geographic concept of the territory integrates different dimensions of value. Like this shows it the basic and applied investigation of the geographic discipline. This work analyses the question for the case of Galicia in the period 1988-2008. The criteria of value are related to the image of the territory where always is present some character of identity. The academic and social interests act like filters of the process of communication of the theoretical and methodological results. From the knowledge of the several orientations of the geographic thought, the references of his historical context and the selective process of the media systems is possible to understand the spheres of value, image and identity of the Galician territory.
