Abstract

There is little available information on the construction of the Residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the Maritime Division of Ferrol, an important 18th-century building. The aim here is thus to reconstruct the building in question and gain an understanding of the time in which it was built, while emphasising the fact that, from the moment of its construction, it was a symbolically important building that was crucial to the spatial planning of the new Ferrol of the Age of Enlightenment.
