Abstract

Come the 12th century, the European power drive to an expansionist politics that will lead them to bending the Moslem domain in the Mediterranean and to risking in navigations increasingly dared by the Atlantic Ocean. Consequence of it will be the definitive connection of the mercantile Mediterranean area with Atlantic one for the strait of Gibraltar. Route in which newly conquered kingdom of Majorca will have an out-standing role.
