Abstract

This essay aims at presenting a historical review of the brazilian agrarian movements and their collective actions and contextualizing the rise of the MST-Landless Workers Movement. We begin with historical research on brazilian rural social movements and then we analyse the points that most importantly contributed to the formation of MST (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem-Terra), the most important landless workers social movement in Brazil.
