The conjuncture of 1612-1613 was of great tension between the Monarchy and some Nobility linked to Portugal. The disturbing topics were: the idea of the royal visit to Portugal was something to maintain or not? How Portugal should swear the heir? The king must swear Portuguese privileges and recognize the political importance of the charter of 1582? If Philip III did not go to Portugal would be legitimate to accept the taxes collected for the visit? What should be the solution for the Council of Portugal? In this article the Author analyzes how these problems were read by two rival nobiliary partialities and the meaning of these clicks in the political culture of the time.
