The modern spa firms appeared in Spain towards the last third of the XIX century and though it has precedents since the middle of the XVIII century, it is significantly related with the definition and consolidation of property rights over the thermal springs, poorly specified until then. The establishment of how these rights were achieved and those companies were developed it the objective of this work.
