Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to outline current archaeological strategies used in the research of NW Iberian Second  Iron Age jewelry. We pay special attention to the theoretical and methodological contributions of archaeometalurgical research. Both technological research and recent innovations experimental in the field of archaeometric characterizations of materials have increased the accuracy in defining the technological aspects of jewelry productionm providing new protocols and innovative research lines. These define the most recent state of art, in a context where the diverse interpretative dimensions revealed by this jewelry encourages the need for new alternative research strategies.
