Reformism and civil governments in the Transition: Ourense 1973-1977

In the following work we focused on the creations of political power groups, inside the reformist way of Francoism’s last years, in the province of Ourense. The paper was made with the compared analysis of documental, bibliographical and journalistic sources of this period. The results show that the political base of the province, at the time of the first democratic elections in Spain after Franco’s death, was controlled by groups of power with francoist origin. Political groups trying to adapt themselves to the new political situation in the country and the region after the dictator disappear, and the progressive advance in the Political Reform and the democratization.
