The inclusion of peoples of greek origin among the Galaics in antiquity by classical authors has produced great confusion among modern historians. In the 19th century the Galigrecos were created as the result of mixing these Greeks with the local Celts. But in more recent times, various expressions used by classical authors to include these fictitious peoples have provoked discussions about the noncelticity of some historical peoples in the region. In this paper we analyze how and why this confusion occurred, while we take a tour of the protohistoric geography of Galicia.
