AN ETHNOHISTORICAL APPROACH TO THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE PROCESS OF ORAL TRANSMISSION IN TRADITIONAL MUSIC.

Abstract

In this research, we aim to shed light on the significance of gender perspective and the role of women in Galician traditional music. To achieve this, we have consulted bibliographic references and conducted interviews to supplement the limited published information available. Consequently, our findings are firmly rooted in the experiences and insights of the researchers themselves. The results obtained demonstrate that Galician women are custodians of a rich cultural and historical heritage, and their recognition and empowerment are crucial for the future of Galicia.
