The "Rei Cintolo: Objective 11,000 m" project, initiated in 2018, promotes and plans a comprehensive re-exploration of Cova do Rei Cintolo, the largest karstic cavity in Galicia. This project encompasses the development of a digital topographic model and a complete inventory of its natural and cultural resources. In 2022, as part of this initiative, a study of the cave's water flow was undertaken to better understand the system's dynamics and essential conservation processes. Preliminary results regarding the characterization of the waters of the Lake of the Central Gallery are presented. Giving visibility to the Cova do Rei Cintolo extends beyond a scientific scope, since it also involves promoting the awareness and protection of natural heritage. By valuing this cave through the knowledge of its resources and dissemination of its significance, both its conservation and potential as a sustainable tourist attraction that respects and values the environment are enhanced.
