This study scrutinizes the enduring historical relationship between the Castro family and the municipality of Láncara, a modest locale in Lugo, linked to the renowned Cuban leaders, Fidel and Raúl, through their father, an emigrant of peasant origin. The unconventional yet persistent ties between these entities have exerted a substantial influence on both political and social domains. Utilizing a qualitative analytical approach, this research delves into the depth
of these bonds and the circumstances precipitating their establishment. In doing so, it augments the understanding of Ibero-American relations, particularly their microhistorical level—a relatively underexplored area of research. This endeavor promises to be a valuable addition to the academic discourse on Spanish immigration to Latin America
