The article enters the complex post-war scenario to study of Spanish-Cuban diplomatic and commercial relations, particularly the negotiations that concluded in 1953 with the signing of a new trade treaty. In this sense, it examines the consensus of the foreign policies of the dictatorships of Francisco Franco and Fulgencio Batista, the management of insular diplomacy and the impact of the signed agreement within a marked trend towards the consolidation of bilateral ties
