Los espacios de reclusión franquista en Galicia. Análisis de la población reclusa (1940-1950).

Resumo

The intention of this work is to make a contribution to the debate of the figures of prisoners of Spanish civil war and postwar by analyzing the Galician case. In a first section we briefly approaching the constitution of fabric Franco prison in Galicia during the war years and which will remain in operation during the immediate postwar period, the second part is the analysis of the prison population, where we provide data both in the total numbers, as the nature of prisoners (political, common), we differentiate between men and women and also as regards their legal status (arrested, prosecuted, punished). The basis of work constitute the prison which publishes statistics from the 1942 Statistical Yearbook of Spain, the only official source, serial and
general at our disposal.
