Throughout the history of education, adults have used body games as significant elements for a pedagogical re-creation. But in addition, these games were practiced freely in the streets and squares, without supervision, by the young people, a fact that involved fights, screams, annoying passers-by ... With an idea to control the behavior of the little ones, it was in the nineteenth century when these practices entered the socializing framework of schooling, and games such as prisioner’s bar, in Spain and in other countries in the European environment, underwent a process of pedagogization. It is from the game of the game that we inquire about the pedagogical configuration process of the school motor game. For this, a history documentation between the beginning of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century has been reviewed. By way of conclusion, the need to collect historical-social information about body games at school age and the importance of educating for freedom is reflected.
