Resumen

Guillermo Sucre (Venezuela, 1933) left his country for the United States in the summer of 1968 and worked in North American universities until 1975. The Latin-Americanist character of the new academic context led him to rethink his aesthetic conception taking into account the problems that he perceived in continental literature. The object of this article is to systematize Sucres conception on what is or what should be Latin American literature.
