La función onomasiológica de los diccionarios: el diccionario como herramienta para aprender nuevas voces o recuperar la palabra olvidada

Abstract

The conception of the ideological dictionary as an instrument of practical nature entails the need for learning its correct usage. Among the functions the ideological dictionary has, we can find the onomasiology, which allows the user to establish a series of relationships between the words and their meanings, different from the information we find in a traditional dictionary. These dictionaries have their own organization (thematic organization, analogical organization, etc.) and they require some knowledge about their contents and the way they have to be used. In this paper we analize some examples that illustrate the advantages they offer in the creation of texts, as well as the gaps, which are unresolved even nowadays.
