LIMITES Y DESAFÍOS EN LA RECEPCIÓN DEL MODERNISMO ANGLO-NORTEAMERICANO

Abstract

This paper reevaluates the reception of modernism in order to demonstrate that the concept of modernism cannot be separated from the discursive practices and theories which have originated around it. The author discusses the critical appropriation and institutionalization which have traditionally identified modernism as selfcontained formalism and, likewise, she disentangles the paradoxes and contradictions underlying the opposition between modernism and postmodernism.
