Abstract

Thomas More began the modern literary utopic gender and Bartolomé de Las Casas was a pioneering champion of amerindian rights during the Spanish Colonialism. They both must present some similarities because their thinking started on a same context. However, because they both worked on different fields: literature and reality, they must present some differences too. I’m comparing Moro’s Utopy and Las Casas’s Memoriales to know how far is possible to dump utopic ideas into reality, some ideas which were born in the moment they knew it was an other further away from Europe.
