Utilización del vídeo en el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera.
Abstract
This article analyses the scarce use of video as an instructive tool for the teaching of English as a second language. It also considers all the didactic advantages of video and the importance of its introduction in the English classroom as well as the techer?s need of literacy in the language of images and the use of audiovisual aids in order to exploit videos effectively to increase the interest and motivation of students.
A questionnaire was designed done to find out the situation in a wide variety of settings in the University of Vigo and several educational centres of ESO and Bachillerato in the four provinces of Galicia, with the aim of confirming the fact that, though it can provide a visual input we can highly benefit from, the use of video is not as widespread as it should.
