Recently, collaborative translation of literary texts has become part of translation courses aiming to reproduce every single step prior to the publication of a book in the editorial market of the target language involved. This paper focuses on the translation, from Spanish into Italian, of Tu corazón en un cofre (2013), a picturebook by Rebecca Beltrán Et Mercé López. The main aim of this translation project, carried out during the last-year of the University Degree in Linguistic and Intercultural Mediation, is the development of translation competence. This paper discusses the structure and different steps of the project, the specific tasks assigned to each students' team, etc. Moreover, it will analyse the main features of the work, a crossover picturebook, and of the literary genre within the Children's and Young Adult Literature. After that, some examples of translation problems will be discussed, together with the solutions proposed. Finally, this work will explain the publication and distribution of the book in the Italian market. In fact, one of the tasks involved the submission of a book proposal to some Publishing Houses.
