Abstract

This paper aims at studying the reception of Christoph von Schmid’s tales and novels in Spain since from the 19th century to the present. Special prominence is given to the defining characteristics of his work, and to the different editions of his books as they have been adapted depending on their publication time. This study will contribute to rescuing Christoph von Schmid from oblivion, to showing the importance and influence of a 19th century foreign author, and how his work developed in Spain.
