Abstract

This article analyzes the identity construction of migrant characters in two Mexican plays for children: Martina y los hombres pájaro (2003) by Mónica Hoth, and Golondrinas (2014) by Gabriela Roman. First, the elements that influence in the construction of identity are analyzed basing on some intersectional categories such as age, social class, sex, gender, family, location and desire, with the purpose of visualizing how the characters embody identity and gender, as well as subjectivity. Finally, this article determines if it is possible to deal with mobile identities in both plays.
