In young adult literature, there has been a boom in fiction related to unusual narratives, mainly long novels and sagas. This article analyses its impact on the Spanish market for storybooks, both written in Spanish or translated, which are aimed to readers over twelve. Thus, we have reviewed the publishers’ catalogues including collections for that age during 2023. After having described their content, it was discovered that school-oriented anthologies give a privileged place to stories with supernatural and marvelous elements. The volumes dealing strictly with the fantastic include mainly examples of 19th century Anglo-Saxon authors. Contributions to contemporary fantasy are scarce, with a few exceptions in the field of the marvellous or in original collective projects. In summary, these pages provide up-todate information on this repertoire, which is useful for researchers and mediators.
