This study examines the role of reflective and critical thinking as a resilience mechanism against violence and hate in children and adolescents. Through a systematic review of research published between 2005 and 2024, it explores approaches to critical thinking, emotional regulation, and resilience in minors. Rigorous inclusion criteria and structured search strategies were applied across specialized databases such as ERIC, PsycINFO, and Web of Science. Findings indicate that promoting reflective thinking systematically strengthens the ability to cope with experiences of violence and hate speech, enhancing emotional and social well-being. The study also highlights the significant role of children’s and young adult literature as a key tool for fostering emotional literacy, critical analysis of complex situations, and the development of resilient identities. The results emphasize the need to integrate the teaching of critical thinking through literary initiatives that nurture essential cognitive and socio-emotional skills for the holistic development of young people.
