La formación del sistema de la literatura infantil y juvenil vasca
Keywords:
children's literature, literary system, translationAbstract
Modern Basque children's literature has quickly developed since its origins in the 80s. During the 90s, it got to be endowed with all the necessary elements to shape itself as a system, thanks to the important effort of writers, illustrators, translators, mediators, etc.
This paper starts from some of the authors” previous work to analyse all those elements —producers, consumers, product, institution, repertoire and market—, within the theoretical framework of professor Even-Zohar's Polysystem Theory. Besides, comparisons between both decades have been done, and some data are offered about activities which can show the normalization of this kind of literature, v.g. literature translated into other languages, to conclude that Basque children's literature has reached its maturity and can be recognized as equivalent to the surrounding literatures.
