Abstract

This article describes the norms of translation in three Spanish translations of children's literature, written originally in Catalan. The three texts belong to the boom of the 80's Catalan detective novel and got a favourable reception, especially among teenagers. The article is structured in three sections, in he first one, the three texts are briefly introduced; in the second section, the nodel of analysis of translational behaviour is presented; and, in the third secion, translation norms are put forward. Contact between the two languages inder study (Spanish and Catalan) and the special characteristics of the receivrs (the youth), have been the two essential key factors in the analysis.
