Abstract

This paper is a study of an ample repertory of infantile and juvenile stories of the school of last decades. The mode in which the books fit naturally the academic stories in is the psicoliteratura. “This mode recovers some of the check marks of the subgenus Bildungsroman or novel of formation, in so much that a narrator, a little boy or an adolescent, almost always in the first person, can evaluate achievements and failures of his own educational process. A contrasting vision of the educational institution is extracted through the reading of this narrative set. On the one hand, the secondary school is usually space where not very good students” behaviour is projected. It is besides place that propitiates sentimental education. “The characters of students and professors are presented as stereotypes. The elementary school, however, receives an almost always positive treatment, being represented as a space of integral learning of the pupils.
