Abstract

In this article the Spanish translations of eight volumes of the successful series Hexe Lilli - Kika Superbruja [Lilly the Witch] by German author Knister will be analyzed, putting the emphasis on how are translated linguistic variations, proper names, humour and irony, as well as cultural differences and intertextuality. In relation with this last issue the double addressee will be mentioned and the problems that arise from the changes in the order of publication of some books of the series. Regarding humour and irony, the great variety of comical resources of the author will be stressed: puns, funny names, creative insults etc. Finally certain changes will be commented that could lead to a conflict concerning the loyalty towards the author's intention.
