Gothic stories in teenage literature

Abstract

In this paper we will analyse the gothic topics in the area of recent literature for young people and will explain some examples principally in Spanish and in English. These topics are: the gothic scenography, the ghostly character, the rationalization of the unreal, the vampire, the automata, the lost shadow and the image into the mirror. We will study these topics in the writers of the gothic stories and in the members of the literary circles of XIXs "The brothers of Saint Serapion" in Berlin and Villa Diodati in Geneva.
