Abstract

The writer James M. Barrie, creator of Peter Pan, always had a great interest in the translation of his works from one artistic medium to another. The tour that his most famous character took in his own work is a good proof. Since ¡ts birth as a minor character within the novel The Little White Bird in 1902, through its transfer to the theatre -as the main character- in 1904 and his return to the realm of the novel in 1911, Barrie still bothered to make one more adaptation, writing a script for the first film version of the play which was finally rejected by the producers of the film. Concerned about the same problem, in this article | will analyze the films that have tried to bring the character created by Barrie from the text to the screen, with special attention to the treatment that Peter Pan has received in Spanish cinema.
