Rewriting of witches and princesses in galician children's literature in the XXI century

Abstract

It discusses the different procedures used in the rewriting of the archetypes of witches and princesses of fairy tales and retold in differents works of children's literature Galician twenty-first century, either by preserving their characteristics or by the parody, subversion, caricature or inversion of roles, adapting to society and claiming the active role of women and gender equality. lt shows the constants and variations of these characters from the hypotext to hypertext, in their physical and psychological characteristics, their role in the plot, its symbolism and intertextual references, both textual and paratextual.
