Comparative overview of translation of the hebrew children's and young adult literature in Spain and Italia (1995-2011)

When a book comes into our hands, we are rarely aware of the important role of translation and translators, because we use to forget the original language, but it could be different that the language used in the read version. However, the percentage of books read in the original language depends on language and country. In Spain, about 21% of the total edition are translations from foreing languages, and in the case of the Children and Young Adult Literature represents 45%. This area ¡is the sector that has the highest percentage of translation. Italy shares a similar behavior in booktranslation, where the translation represents 19% of the total edition, although the percentage declines gradually in last years. This paper offers a comparative study of the translation of the Hebrew Children's Literature in Spain and Italy in the last fifteen years. In addition, it provides additional and useful information such as the main translated authors, translators, and publishing houses.
