The presence of Luisa Ducla Soares in portuguese children's literature: childhood and diversity representations

After presenting a brief overview of Luisa Ducla Soares (Lisboa, 1939) literary oeuvre, this paper will reflect upon diversity representations by cross-reading a body of texts which includes works such Os Ovos Misteriosos, A Festa de Anos e Desejos de Natal, among others. The aim of this paper is to analyse specific elements related to the referred themes, to its diegetic and discursive construction as well as to the characters. Furthermore, this essay pays special attention to aspects related to ¡llustrations and to the relationship between image and text as some of the selected books can be situated in picture story book genre.
