Teaching children's literature throught the ocean: Mª Elena Walsh and Gloria Fuertes

This research highlights Gloria Fuertes' and Maria Elena Walsh's work: two authors who have managed to conquer children through their poems, stories, their particular rhythm and their music. This study underscores the importance of collating literary works from different countries as it provides a wide range of aesthetic possibilities and educational and cultural theories. In order to clarify the answers to the questions raised, we will conduct a comparative analysis of style and significance of the most famous work of these authors so as to investigate ¡ts success with young audiences, their motivations and their way of transforming stories in verse. To carry out this issue, we review the socio-historical context, and the confluence of style such as the introduction of Nonsense, humor, folklore; and finally, the recurring themes like animals, the description of objects, social issues or the status of women.
We also collect some proposals coming from Maria Elena Walsh's repertoire, which give effect to her poetic education in current children's world by means of theater.
