Theater experience by means of cartoons: a teaching analysis proposal

Currently, theatrical experience for children takes place largely by means of television screen.
The present study analyzes the forms that theater acquires in five contemporary cartoon series almed at children in different age groups, from babies to preteens: Egg Birds, Peppa Pig, Calimero, Henry Hugglemonster and Sofia the First. These series offer special features concerning the perception of theatre; they range from the identification of basic stage elements to the importance of transformation and change of identity in the series for older children. Thus, this study allows to propose a didactic application on the skills that children can acquire.
