Childern's and young adult literature in Dreamworks' animated feature films (20012012): Humoristic Audiovisual Intertextuality

The aim of this study ¡is to delve into the intertextual relationship between Animation and Children's and Young Adult Literature (ChL/YA). The literary references will be quantitatively and qualitatively described using the ChL/YA contents included in 14 DreamWorks productions 2001-2012. In this way, literary references in other animated feature films can be identified. This detailed analysis highlights essential concepts which are also discussed here: Intertextuality (Kristeva, 1969), Children's and Young Adult Literature and Animated Feature Film, as well as the term Intertextual Humor.
