Abstract

Technological advances and the development of virtual learning environments in university teaching have required a modification of traditional teaching models, including the methods to follow up and assess the academic progress. Despite the opportunities offered by technological resources to incorporate new strategies to follow up and assess student learning, there is a gap related to the skills of teachers and students to use digital platforms. Given this background, and using an online survey applied to a sample of students from the University of Extremadura (Spain), the present work centers its attention to know the assessment of university students about the virtual activities carried out to follow up and assess their academic progress through of a digital platform. The results show that virtual tools to follow up and assess the teaching-learning process present a good evaluation by the students.
