1. Submissions to the journal should be written in English. Contributors whose native language is not English should have their manuscripts revised and proofread before submission. The paper must be anonymous, contact details must be provided in a separate file. The documents listed below must be provided through one or two hyperlinks within the Data Analysis section of the paper. The documents must be anonymized:

• A complete file containing all statistical analyses performed on the data. The full statistical analysis must include all relevant outputs, tests, and model results used in the manuscript.
•  A full data analysis file, including all data in the format used for analysis (e.g., Excel, CSV, SPSS, R, etc.) The data analysis file must contain the original data in its processed or raw form, along with any code, formulas, or other methods used to conduct the analysis.
• Submissions lacking these documents will not be considered for review.

2. Types of submission: The journal publishes full-length articles of original empirical research. The articles should not exceed 10.000 words. Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration by any other journal. They should not have been previously published or deposited in any public archive or open science repository. Double submissions by the same author or co-author for the same issue are not allowed.

3. One copy of the manuscript should be submitted and should be single-spaced throughout (including references). All pages should be numbered serially. Please use 12 pt Times New Roman type letter and leave 2.54 cm margins at the top, bottom, and on both sides of the text. Non-English words should appear in italics. Please avoid boldface type, except in the title and subdivisions of the text. Use only double quotation marks, with the exception of translations, when single quotation marks should be used. Examples not in English should have aligned interlinear glosses and an idiomatic translation.

4. Statistics in the paper must include p values, effects size and confidence intervals as well as the reliability of the research instruments. They must follow APA 7th edition.

5. An abstract of exactly 200 words must be submitted, in English, with a translated version in Spanish, German or French.

6. Keywords: Please provide five keywords, avoiding general and multiple concepts. The keywords are important for indexing purposes, and should therefore be as accurate as possible. Keywords must be included in English and a translated version in Spanish, German or French. They must be separated by semicolons, with a full stop at the end of the five keywords.

7. Footnotes are not allowed. End-notes should be kept to an absolute minimum and be as brief as possible. They may contain no diagrams or tables. They should be numbered consecutively and indicated in the text by a raised number following any punctuation marks.

8. Acknowledgements should be presented under a separate heading at the end of the article, before the references. Do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a foot- or endnote or otherwise. They should be withheld until acceptance.

9. Tables, figures and diagrams should be included in the text in the position where they are to appear. It is the authors’ responsibility to present tables, figures and diagrams that do not exceed the margins and are reproducible. Tables and figures should adhere to APA style guide 7th edition.

10. Non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention (even if they occur in the abstract).

11. Headings: Number sections and subsections as follows: 1. (in bold), 1.1 (in bold and italcs), 1.1.1 (in bold and italics)

12. Citations in the text: Citations in the text must folllow APA style guide 7th edition.

13. Disclosure statement: Authors are required to disclose any use of generative AI tools during the manuscript writing process at the time of submission. Authors are expected to critically evaluate and revise any AI-generated content, as these tools may produce persuasive but inaccurate, incomplete, or biased text. Responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the submitted work remains entirely with the authors. If authors use AI tools the following statement must be added above the references section: The author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] during the preparation of this manuscript for the purpose of [BRIEF EXPLANATION, e.g., improving language clarity, editing grammar, or formatting text]. All output generated by the tool was carefully reviewed and revised by the author(s), who accept full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the final content

14. References: Responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic citations lies entirely with the authors. Incomplete bibliographies will be returned to the author. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list. Unpublished results and personal communications should not be mentioned. Citation of a reference as “in press” or “forthcoming” implies that the item has been accepted for publication.
Please adhere to the APA styleguide 7th edition. DOIs must be provided.

15. Reviewing and Evaluating: VIAL is a peer-reviewed journal. All manuscripts are first evaluated by members of the editorial board. Only manuscripts of the highest quality are sent for review. Articles suitable for the journal are sent to two reviewers to be blind reviewed. If the reports of both referees are positive the paper is accepted.
