Abstract

This article analyzes the presence and evolution of sea topic in the poetry of Pablo Neruda; the implications with his own life. Particularly this topic is discussed in “The Great Ocean”, Canto General, Canto XIV; place of eternity and movement, shelter from the transience of human being, place of solitude and silence, its secrets and its relationship to men: Me ethnic, social and historical of South American man.
