On the disappearance of future perfect subjunctive from Peninsular Spanish

The aim of this article is to comment on the elimination of future perfect subjunctive (hubiere cantado) from Peninsular Spanish. Apart from drawing attention to the history, the usage and the causes of the disappearance of this form, the author uses the data gathered in the Corpus Diachronic of Spanish (CORDE) to register the first symptoms of its weakness in the Spanish verb system.
