Abstract

The very interesting ending of the comedia de figurón Entre bobos anda el juego by Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla has been interpreted, in recent decades, by several scholars, as an ending that shows its author's aim to point at the comic protagonist of the drama, don Lucas del Cigarral, as an ambivalent hero of the final conflict. In a previous article, we analyzed several possible reasons against such interpretation. In this article, we address some more points, both structural and of gender, against this hypothesis.
