El español de América y el tipo del indiano en el teatro de Santiago Rusiñol
Abstract
As a result of emigration to the West Indies, the enriched indiano's myth arised. Castilian literature echoed it in the 16th century, but Catalan literature did not echo it until 19th century. This is why we consider in this article if American linguistic treats in the indiano's speech respond to literary conventionalism in Santiago Rusiñol's theatre or if they are relevant to study language contact in Catalonia in the 19th century.
