Abstract

In this study, the author studies the loans from the nahuatl language to Mexican Spanish and its lexical derivations, grouping the most representative semantic fields of such loans. This analysis allows her to show the limitation in the denotative semantic fields that were needed by the conquerors, excluding those related to areas of the cultural power of interactions and thoughts of a community.
