EL TRATAMIENTO DEL GÉNERO GRAMATICAL EN EL DICCIONARIO PANHISPÁNICO DE DUDAS: ENTRE LA TRADICIÓN Y LA NOVEDAD

Abstract

The main aim of this article has been to analyse the presence of the female gender in the nouns related to jobs, posts, titles and human activities in the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas. We have compared this consideration made in this dictionary with the last edition of Diccionario de la lengua española (RAE, 2001) and the Diccionario de dudas y dificultades de la lengua española by Manuel Seco. It has been interesting in this research to check the presence of these words in the different editions of the academic dictionary (NTLLE) and review the corpus of examples offered by RAE (CORDE and CREA) with the objective of confirming the habitual use of these nouns.
