Sobre polisemia en la formación de palabras

Abstract

Polysemy is, without question, one of the most striking aspects of word-formation patterns; almost all affixes have more than one meaning. To approach the problem of affixal polysemy, we will focus, first, on unitary meaning, to address afterwards the typology of the main processes that generate semantic fragmentation and the study of different cases (-ada, -azo, -dor) where the disruptive forces have been more powerful than the unifying spirit.
