Abstract

For the first time appears a completed work of the life of Leonor Fernández de Torreblanca, wife of the bachelor Juan de Cervantes, parental grandparents of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. There are mentions and quotes in previous works, especially in Vida ejemplar y heroica de Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, by Luis Astrana Marín, however, there is no complete profile of Leonor. This study is based on the documents. My intentions are to study the material meticulously and to make clear the academic demand of a detailed analysis of the information about Leonor, as well as to emphasize some documents about her character. I invite the lector to analyze the documents of Manco de Lepanto’s relatives in detail, knowing that there remain a lot to be covered to reveal the truth on the life of the relatives of the author of the Quixote.
