Abstract

This paper deals with the dynamics between verse and prose in Don Quixote, in the process of creating both narrators’ and characters’ voices. These dynamics are contemplated from Cervantes’ deep and long lasting relationship with Garcilaso’s poetry, and they are associated with great masters of prose or verse such as Fielding, Wordsworth, Flaubert, Baudelaire or Borges
