Abstract

Assuming that text linguistics is able to show how and to what extended a sentence is determined according to its insertion within a large context, the present work studies the legal text, i. e., the actual manifestation of law and, at the same time, the written pattern in its application. The paper also considers some peculiarities observed on the verbal category, as well as its discursive implications, since verbal forms, just as the lexical selection and several deictics tell about the different positions, attitudes and approaches in the interpretation of legislation and of the legal proceedings
